 radio roundup: August ’14
For the few of you I haven’t told, when I’m not blogging here or busy working on something for one of my clients I run a music podcasting/blogsite called radio. Run by primarily me – but also involving a few friends and colleagues – is approaching its sixth year of service and has changed my life.
What started out as a hobby in response to my frustration with commercial radio and music magazines took me from a well-paid job in telecoms to a degree in Music Journalism and then to un… *coughs* sorry self-employment. Each month on KL.co.uk I’ll be highlighting the best bits from a months worth of output.
Deep from the heart of Huddersfield’s music scene and representing indie record shops everywhere come Vinyl Taps Adam Stroyan with nearly an hours worth of the best rarities, collectables and amazing tracks from the month of August. Their strongest podcast yet!
My look at Lorde – Ribs
On the site I tend to write blogs which are thoughts/reviews about individual tracks(because no one really cares about albums anymore) which I have found satisfying in one way or another and this was the one that I really felt hits the nail on the head about the artist and the song.
As the ever so wonderful Jenessalikestowrite.com kindly asked me to be her photographer for Leeds Festival 2014 I felt like it would be a little churlish to pass up the opportunity to write up some thoughts about, the music, guest camping and other oddities.
